Q: Can i take my Allegra medicine the morning of my fasting lab?
I take Allegra every morning for chronic hives, if i don’t take it when i wake up i will get hives within like 30 minutes… and i have a fasting test tomorrow. Do you know if i can take my medicine with water in the morning?
A: Depending on the particular tests you are having done it is probably ok, but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well as the lab you are getting the test done (if the test is being done outside of the clinic).
Q: can some allegra medicine help you lose weight?
i heard that some allegra medicines can help you lose weight. if so which ones?
A: Try the lil Jack work out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezris It works wonders
Q: What is a good none drowsy allergy medicine other than Allegra?
Im having BAD allergy problems and my allegra makes me have severe cramps during my period.
A: Zyrtec is the best one I have tried.
Q: What is the recommended over-the-counter medicine to take in place of Allegra-D?
My Doctor prescribed Allegra-D but was the med was too expensive. I need to know what else is recommended that could be purchased over-the-counter.
A: You could try Claritin or loratidine (Claritin generic) over the counter, but the D in Allegra D is a decongestant and you can’t find anything OTC as far as Claritin or loratidine with a decongestant, so you may want to spring for the Allegra D or ask your doctor for a prescription for a generic at a considerably cheaper cost.
Q: Anyone have problems with taking medicine Allegra 180?
Have been taking this for acouple of years, and have had dizzyness, headaches, naustiousness, and some other things going on in my body. Has started to effect my every day life, i have had my sinuses and ears and what not checked nothing seems to come up. I have not been like this my whole life but started to look at the side effects of allegra 180 that i do take and have for the couple of years now that i have seen to see these problems. I was wondering if anyone takes this or knows of someone who does and if you or someone has had side effects, if so what? I need allergy medicine due to allergies but i am willing to try anything to feel better, if you know what i mean! Please someone give me some information on if this drug could be the leading cause to my problems instead of something internally?
i believe it started happening around teh time i started the allegra but i am NOT positive, i have been trying to figure out , but i know it is close to the same time. i am though however goign to try to get into the allergist very soon, but was just i guess wondering if this is possibly allegra, i am tired of feelign this way and no other dr.s seem to see what is wrong
A: If your symptoms started around the time you began taking the medicine, it is possible that they are a side affect of the Allegra. You might try talking to your doctor about switching to a different medication for allergies. Zyrtec is another popular allergy medication that actually recently went over the counter. Depending on what type of allergy symptoms you have, you may be able to treat the symptom. For example, some people may benefit from an eye drop such as zaditor (otc) or prescription patanol or optivar. Other options for nasal congestion/allergies include nasal sprays. I personally take singulair which for me prevents symptoms from occurring at all (this is usually marketed as an asthma medication). So, if you determine that your symptoms are from the medication, you do have other options and do not have to suffer! Discuss with your doctor before making any changes.
Q: Should you stop taking allegra or allergy medicine once your symptons are gone?
A: if the symptoms are gone and you have a good idea of what your allergies are then i would stop taking them. there are places on the web where you can keep track of what allergens are high or low. i’d use that as a reference and if your specific allergy starts rating high then as a preventative method i would start taking them again so you don’t have to suffer.
Q: I need an Allergy Decongestant Medicine that works?
Ive tried all fo the allergy decongestant medicines (allegra D, Claritan D, Zyrtec D) and Ive become immune to them all. Anyone take any other medicine that helps relieve the congestion from allergies?
Ive also tried several nasal sprays.
A: Alavert works really well for me.
Q: Taking expired Allergy medicine?(allegra, fexofenadine)?
i have a bottle of allegra and im just curious if theres any side effects to taking these pills even though they expired about a month ago.
A: They have been kept in a fairly cool dark environment it probably won’t hurt a thing.
Q: Where can i find Allegra Oral?
Does anyone know what stores i can find the medicine allegra oral?
A: Neda, I have been completely satisfied with allegra. I have noticed a significant reduction in my allergy symptoms as well as rash breakouts. I take Allegra twice daily, and need that dosage in order to keep my symptoms under control. I am very pleased! I purchase Allegra online with reliable drugstore, http://www.pharmacynextdoor.com It is much cheaper and does not require any prescription.
Q: Allegra D- 24 hr medicine?
I have been stuffed up due to swollen turbinates, until yesterday when I was prescribed Allegra D it unblocked me for some of yesterday. I woke up this morn usually I’m all congested but only one of my nostrils instead of both swelled back closed. It seems to work but I was wondering how long will it take until I got my allergies back under control. Well I never had this happen before so even the Dr’s are wondering is it even allergies. I will see an allergist within the next month,. Has anyone ever have this happen before? don’tnt have any infection I had a ct scan my septum wasn’t deviated just swollen turbinates. After taking the allegra yesterday I had my best day in 2 months, I’m just wondering when should maximum relief kick in?
A: If its responding to the allegra then chances are its allergies (you wouldn’t have relief other wise). You really need to find out exactly what you are allergic to so you can begin to avoid it or at least eliminate is. It may be something you can be desensitized to.
Keep up with the allegra until you get your allergist r/v (dont forget to check when you need to cease it before seeing them-you cant have spt’s if youre taking antihistamines-they give inaccurate results)
cheers and good luck

Q: What’s the best medicine for seasonal allergies?
I’ve had allergies for 23 years now. I have seasonal allergies: mold, ragweed, pollen and also dust and pet dander. I’ve tried Claritin, Claritin D, Allegra, Allegra D, Zyrtec, flonase, and benydril. I’ve also tried air filters. Staying in air conditioning and drinking plenty of fluids helps some. I want a medicine that won’t put me to sleep and will work. I’m tired of not being able to enjoy spring through fall due to allergies. Any suggestions?
A: So long as there is ragweed, pollen and dust you will probably always have allergies, I had to take shots during the worst seasons, my doctor went through all the above medicines as well, I got the best results from Benydril. As your Doctor if he can give you the Allergy shots. good luck.
Q: What’s the best medicine for cold urticaria?
Hello,
I have had cold urticaria for about three months. I am taking Allegra 24, but still have rashes if in a cold place. Is there any other better medicine for cold urticaria?
A: Periactin seems to work better for this disorder than does Allegra.
Q: What allergy medicine has FEXOFENADINE in it?
I went to the parmacy the other day looking for an Alegra D over the counter subsitue. Since Alegra D costs 100 bucks for 30 pills. She told me to get some alergy medicine with Fexofenadine in it which is the active ingrediant in Allegra D.
A: Allegra or Allegra-D also Telfast, Truludan, and seldane. Allegra is most popular. They require prescriptions however. Zyrtec-D will give you great results if you’re looking for something over the counter.
Q: Should I continue taking my allergy medicine while getting immunotherapy?
I recently started allergy shots and forgot to ask the doctor if it was ok for me to continue taking my allergy medicine. They prescribed me my medicine so I assume they know I’m taking it and the pharmacist said it’s alright as well, but I just want to make sure… My allergies are horrible without my medicine so I really want to know. I know there’s doctors and other people who get shots on here so if one could respond, that would be awesome! THANKS!
I take allegra, flonase, and patanol…
A: I have read over your question. It’s funny because it make me want to ask you a question(s) but of course I can’t. May I email you a few things and fact based information that at the very least will give you a better understanding or hopefully empower you with some more knowledge.

Q: allegra-d is not working for my nose i took it this morning and it is a 24 hour medicine, can I take a sudafed
A: NO! Allegra-D and Sudafed contain the same nasal decongestant. You should instead mix your medications so that they contain different active ingredients.
I use a mix of Benadryl or Chlorotabs and Allegra-D on the really bad days. This provide two different types of anti-histamines and one type of decongestant. You may also want to consider Naso-Chrom, containing the active ingredient chromalyn. Chromalyn stops the release of histamine, rather relying on meds to block histamine receptors.
Remember, if you can, it is always better to take antihistamines approximately 30-45 minutes prior to your anticipated exposure. This gives the meds time to block all the receptors before hystamine is released.
